Bed’s and friends’ collection of gifs — searchable, shareable, and short.

What it is

bed.wtf is a private gif repository with a short URL on the front (/g/abc123.gif) and a tiny search API on the back. Type a few words, find a gif, paste it into the next thing that wants a gif.

How to use it

  • From the web, browse and search at bed.wtf.
  • Each gif has a short URL like bed.wtf/g/abc123.gif that you can drop into any chat.
  • bed.wtf/s/<keywords> redirects straight to the best matching gif — useful for muscle-memory sharing.
  • Sign in to favourite gifs, see the popular leaderboard, and contribute new ones.

Clients

The same API powers a few different consumers:

  • Web — right here.
  • iOS app + keyboard — native, with an in-keyboard gif search you can use anywhere.
  • Alfred workflow — for macOS keyboard-driven searching.
  • Mattermost plugin — /wtf <keywords> in any channel.

API tokens

Most endpoints work anonymously, but signing in and creating an API token from your account page lets clients personalise results (your favourites get bumped to the top).

Privacy

We don’t track you. Anonymous search hits aren’t associated with a user. Logged-in usage is stored only for favourite personalisation.
